In August and January Explorius offers our arriving students and our experienced students a 4 day camp in
Copenhagen. The Camp in Copenhagen is a voluntary activity but we recommend it highly. It is a fun way of
starting an exchange in the Nordic countries.
The camp includes three nights in a modern youth hostel in the centre of Copenhagen including breakfast,
dinner, sheets and towels, orientation activities, local trips around town and one sightseeing tour, airport
shuttle to and from the airport and 24 hours supervision by tourleaders.
The students pay for lunches and pocket money.
All students arrive from home countries or host areas to Copenhagen during the day. We settle in at
the hostel in the city center of Copenhagen. Volunteers are showing the early arrivers around in the city.
After breakfast we gather for some important information about being an exchange student in
general and an active workshop about how it is to be in a new country and in a new host family is held. The
experienced exchange students have the option to go on a trip instead. After that we will explore the city
We get to know the beautiful capital of Denmark, Copenhagen, a bit better. We do a sightseeing
tour and in the afternoon the students will get group tasks to explore the city and show the result of their
work in the evening.
We help the students to their travel arrangements for further travel to their host areas.
The goal of the trip is to give the students a useful and fun time together during or in the beginning of
their stay! It is much worth get to know other students in the same situation as themselves and it is our
experience that it eases the students´ adjustment process to talk to other students, get to know Explorius
staff and get important guidelines about how to handle their lifes as exchange students. We call it a soft
